4Dubai Municipality and ThyssenKrupp Elevator announce the launch of aInternational, open, single stage, public, anonymous, preliminary design competitionfor the conception of a tall emblem structure, to promote the new face of Dubai.In conformity with the UIA-UNESCO regulations for international competitions, thecompetition has been approved by the UIA.
Located within the Za’abeel Park the structure should promote tourism, have a uniquestate of the art design, include cultural and leisure activities, conference and theatrefacilities. Local climatic conditions should be taken into account, as well as urban andlandscape aspects, passive construction principles should be applied and the structureshould respond to the seismic constraints of the region.The following prizes will be awarded: a first prize of 100 000US $, a second of 50 000US $
in addition to three prizes of 20 000 US $ each.

PARTICIPATION
The competition is open to architects and teams of architects worldwide who have the
right to practice the profession in their countries.
